Dr. Antonio
Gordon presents Mr. Ed. Tudanger, CEO of Palmetto General
Hospital, with a plaque of appreciation for the support that
the hospital gave to the Finlay Medical Society. The
original study of the Cuban inmigrants performed in 1980
involved a number of hematological and chemical tests. All
of them were carried out at Palmetto general though the
courtesy of the hospital and Dr. Leon Termin, MD, Chief
Pathologist.

A bust of Dr.
Carlos J. Finlay was donated and dedicated at Hialeah
Hospital on December 3rd , 1987. In
the photograph, from left to right, Mr. David Jimenez,
hospital administrator, Dr. Albert García-Romeu, MD who
delivered a talk on the legacy of the work of Dr. Finlay,
and Dr. Antonio Gordon, MD. PhD.

The Finlay
Medical Society sponsored a series of lectures,
demonstrations, and seminars for pre-meds enrolled at
Florida International University in Miami. In the pictures
Dr. Antonio Gordon orients pre-meds in various issues on the
medical profession. Many of the pre-meds elected to undergo
a CPR course. The photograph was taken during one of the
sessions. The CPR course was c-sponsored by Hialeah Hospital
Department of Continuing Medical Education.
