The wound is infected with redness on the medial side and slight accumulation of exudates. The exudates was cultured and it grew Staphylococcus aureus sensitive of penicillin.
The stitches were removed and the wound did not dehisce.  He was treated with an oral cephalosporin and topical antibiotic preparation.
