DISCUSSION:

Seminoma is a germ cell tumor that spreads first through the lymphatics to the retroperitoneum and periaortic lymph nodes and then later hematogenously. The primary form of treatment is surgery, orchiectomy. Radiation to the involved area and periaortic lymph nodes is extremely effective. It seldom metastasizes to the liver and lungs.
