GAME 6. VECTORS OVERCOME ROOSTERS WHEN THEIR BATS ARE SILENCED BY DON.

The VECTORS won the 6th game of the Medical Circle Softball League Series this Fall when the Roosters’ bats were essentially silenced by Frankie Don on Saturday November 3, 2007.  The game followed the 7th inning attempt by the ROOSTERS to overcome the VECTORS record delayed a whole week for reasons too numerous to count, several players out.

The performance of Frankie Don improved as the game went on. His methods combined finesse and a touch of the malice we saw with the veteran undefeated pitcher of the VECTORS Aristeo Seiguido. The VECTORS would no comment if Aristeo had been planting his methods on the youth of the VECTORS but the fans and several commentators present in the well-attended game did make the connection.

The Fall series is coming to an end with a remarkable set of records, stats and experiences. There is once aspect, however that had not been discussed in much detail, the injuries! In this series, as in any sports activity, injuries are the most common cause of detained growth, derailment of careers and individual and collective failure.

This is a brief summary of the injuries reported to the Medical Circle Softball League Officials.

Antonio Gordon

Amy Miteff

Catcher

Ana Lucia

Left Superior Iliac Ligament stain

There may have been other injuries not obviously observed or reported. Let us look a t the number of “players missing in action.” It is noted in the league records that the ROOSTERS had four players who only played one game and there is no knowledge of how they did or why they did not return. This statistic for the VECTORS is seven players playing only one game and never seen again. The four ROOSTERs amount to 17% of the total number of players in the ROOSTERS team while the seven VECTORS surpassed the percentage amounting to 41% of the VECTORS players. Although the overall average age of the VECTORS in this series seems less than that of the ROOSTERS, the injuries noted above are distributed half for the veterans and half for the youngsters. The amateurs sports writers association has suggested that age of each player be collected into the entry forms so that teams may have similar age make-ups.

Obviously, the best way to prevent injuries is training, preparation, and quick protection of any minimally injured function to prevent progression and further disability. The preparation for the nest series begins NOW with a self examination of mental and physical attitudes, life style review and modifications and a determination – with a goal in mind – that changes are for the better: for feeling better, doing better and eventually being better.

The last game of this Fall 2007 Series starts TODAY, November 10, 2007, in FIELD NUMBER 4, at TROPICAL PARK. SEE YOU THERE.
